Job summary

Musgrave is seeking a Data Quality and Controls Lead to establish and scale the organisation’s data quality program. You will define standards, build controls across pipelines, and lead a small team of analysts to ensure trusted, accurate data for reporting and AI use cases.

Reporting to the Head of Data Governance within IT, the role can be based in Dublin or Cork and involves close collaboration with business, analytics, and technology teams to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Experience in data quality, data management, data analytics, or risk management.
• Experience defining and implementing data quality frameworks or control processes in complex environments.
• Practical experience using SQL, Python to analyse and improve data quality.
• Experience with modern data platforms (Azure DevOps, Microsoft Fabric & Purview, Databricks) and implementing data quality controls.
• Understanding of data quality principles including rules, controls, monitoring, and issue management.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and cross-functional collaboration across business, analytics, and technology teams.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to identify root causes of data issues.
• Ability to communicate data quality concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience in retail, FMCG, or complex operational environments is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve enterprise data quality and control framework aligned with governance strategy.
• Establish data quality standards, rules, and tolerances for critical data across domains.
• Design and implement data quality rules, checks, and controls within data platforms.
• Ensure data quality controls are applied across data pipelines and interfaces.
• Collaborate with technology and analytics teams to embed data quality into data products and delivery processes.
• Lead data quality monitoring, issue management, and root cause analysis processes.
• Drive continuous improvement in data quality through measurement and remediation.
• Define and report metrics to assess data quality and control effectiveness.
• Build and lead a small team of data analysts to establish a central data quality capability.
• Partner with business teams to improve data quality at source and embed quality management into operations.
