Supporting the DPO across all data protection matters, with dedicated ownership of AI compliance, embedding the data privacy and AI strategy company-wide, and providing assurance to the Board and Senior Management on compliance with internal and regulatory requirements.
This is a Controlled Function (CF-2) role under the Central Bank's Fitness and Probity Regime. The successful candidate must meet and maintain the relevant F&P standards and Conduct Standards on an ongoing basis. This is initially a 12 month FTC.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement and maintain the local Data Privacy Policy and AI Compliance Policy in line with regulatory and Group requirements
- Drive the delivery and continued enhancement of the data protection and AI framework, ensuring it is embedded across the business
- Produce high-quality reporting for the Executive Team, Board and Audit Committee
- Identify and report on Key Risk Indicators for data protection and AI, coordinating with Risk, Information Security, Legal, HR, Operations, Finance and Internal Audit
- Manage responses to incidents involving personal data and AI, and support the identification and resolution of data errors
- Own the end-to-end management of data subject requests
- Provide data privacy and AI sign-off on relevant projects and processes
- Support the drafting of internal and external confidentiality agreements, including guidance on marketing activity, sensitive personal data and client information
- Deliver training and communications on regulatory topics to support a culture of compliance
- Develop capability within the Compliance team on data privacy and AI
Skills & Experience
- Minimum 6 years' experience in a data protection or legal environment, ideally with insurance or financial services exposure
- Working knowledge of the developing AI regulatory landscape
- Detailed understanding of financial services operating practices, data privacy regulation and technology
- Proven track record advising senior management clearly and concisely, with exposure to Boards and sub-committees
- Previous experience dealing with a regulatory body
- Licentiate of the Compliance Institute (LCI) or equivalent, with current CPD
- Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with the confidence to challenge behaviour and action plans at all levels
- Analytical and pragmatic, with strong problem-solving and decision-making ability
- Excellent written, oral and presentation skills, adapting style to the audience
- Strategic, adaptable and comfortable driving change in a fast-paced environment
