Job summary

Sandvik in Ireland is seeking an accomplished Data Product Owner to drive the data product roadmap and align it with business KPIs. You will manage backlogs, write user stories, and define acceptance criteria while coordinating cross-functional teams to deliver features that maximize business value.

You will lead DevOps releases, mentor teams in Agile practices, and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure data products meet evolving requirements.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field
5+ years of experience in product ownership, project management, analysis or similar role
Strong leadership and communication skills
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks while meeting tight deadlines
Experience with Scrum and Agile methodologies
Experience with Jira, Trello, MS DevOps or Asana
Experience with Power BI
Strong negotiation skills
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and requirements
Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects
Familiarity with data warehousing development and methodologies
Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Comfortable coaching and mentoring teams on Agile methods and product development best practices
Understanding of data sources and integrations across multiple systems
Experience or understanding of SAP

Responsibilities

Create and maintain the data product roadmap aligned with Sandvik’s business strategy and measurable KPIs
Manage cross-team backlogs and priorities across multiple data products
Create and maintain user stories, non-functional requirements, acceptance criteria and definitions of done
Prioritize backlog items according to Portfolio Epic priorities and remove obsolete items
Manage the operations side of data products and identify improvements to prevent recurring issues
Define and prioritize product features based on business value and customer needs
Coordinate DevOps production and UAT releases
Present timelines and budgets for stakeholders and D&A resource management
Collaborate with development teams and stakeholders to ensure products meet business requirements
Provide direction to development teams on what to build and why
Test solutions before launching them to business stakeholders
Use Databricks to check data and support business questions
Coach and mentor teams on Agile methods and product development best practices
Analyze business requirements and help prepare mappings
Lead data product business groups and communicate timelines and goals
Improve D&A processes for managing data products from start to finish
Report to the Data & Analytics Delivery Lead
