Job summary

Liberty IT is seeking a data-focused software engineer to join a team delivering robust data pipelines using Python, SQL and AWS. You’ll work within a cloud-based data platform, building foundations for pricing and modelling decisions.

You will grow your data engineering skills in a supportive, hands-on environment while collaborating with experienced engineers to deliver high-quality software and scalable data products.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering software using Python, SQL and AWS.
• A third level qualification in Software Engineering, Computer Science or STEM subject and one year post graduate software development experience; or certifications and three years software development experience.
• Experience in agile software delivery (Scrum, Kanban, XP, etc.).
• Knowledge and experience of continuous improvement in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Experience in technical communication with peers and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Be part of a team delivering high-quality software to solve complex business problems.
• Write clean code in line with team standards and practices.
• Own and deliver defined tasks or stories; communicate progress in stand-ups and agile events.
• Collaborate with technical and non-technical teams to maximise customer value.
• Contribute to code quality with automated, unit and integration tests; apply security practices like threat modelling.
