Job summary

Amazon AWS is seeking a Data Centre Manager to lead large-scale data centre operations, manage engineering teams, and drive performance and safety standards across on-site facilities in Ireland. You will oversee co-located and in-house sites, build new centres, and collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure reliable cloud infrastructure.

You will promote process improvements (Kaizen/Lean/Six Sigma) and maintain metrics that guide positive changes while ensuring safety

Qualifications

• Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair.
• Experience in data center engineering or operations.
• Experience in people management and team development.
• Experience managing complex and fast-moving issues.
• Experience analyzing metrics to drive business improvements.

Responsibilities

• Managing and developing teams of engineers, providing both technical and leadership expertise and ensuring highest levels of performance.
• Maintaining existing co-located and in-house Data Centres
• Helping build and bring online new Data Centres
• Constantly improving all our processes and procedures.
• Assisting & managing relationships with external vendors & contractors
• Liaising with internal teams & management groups
• Ensuring we adhere to and exceed local Health & Safety standards in all our Data Centres
• Creating and maintaining metrics on all aspects of our Data Centres and utilising those metrics to drive positive changes
• Assisting in implementing service methodologies including incident management, problem management, change management, capacity management, etc.
