Job summary

John Paul Construction is seeking a Data Analyst for our Planning Department at the Dublin Head Office. You will collect, clean, and validate data from project systems, and design Power BI dashboards to give project teams and leadership real-time visibility of cost, programme, safety and quality metrics.

The role requires 3–5 years in a data/BI role, advanced Power BI skills, and strong SQL/Excel data validation experience. Collaboration with project controls and site teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in data analytics or related field.
• 3-5 years in a Data Analyst, BI Analyst or Project Controls Analyst role.
• Advanced Power BI skills with dashboard development and data visualisation.
• Strong Excel, Power Query, SQL and data validation experience.
• Excellent communication to engage stakeholders and translate requirements into KPIs.

Responsibilities

• Collect, clean, and validate data from project management systems to ensure data integrity across the business.
• Design and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports for real-time visibility on cost, programme, safety, and quality performance.
• Develop and maintain data pipelines and automated reporting processes to reduce manual effort and errors.
• Work with project controls, commercial, and site teams to define data requirements and translate into KPIs.
• Identify trends and patterns in project data and present findings clearly.
• Support forecasting model development and refinement.
• Maintain data governance standards in line with policy.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Collect, clean, and validate data from project management systems to ensure data integrity across the business.
• Design and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports that give project teams and leadership real-time visibility of cost, programme, safety, and quality performance.
• Develop and maintain data pipelines and automated reporting processes, reducing manual effort and human error in routine reporting.
• Work with project controls, commercial, and site teams to define data requirements and translate them into measurable metrics and KPIs.
• Identify trends, anomalies, and patterns in project data and present findings in a clear, accessible format.
• Support the business in building and refining forecasting models.
• Maintain data governance standards in line with company policy.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in data analytics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3-5 years' experience in a Data Analyst, Business Intelligence Analyst, or Project Controls Analyst role.
• Advanced Power BI skills, including dashboard development and data visualisation.
• Strong experience with Excel, Power Query, SQL, and data validation processes.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders and translate business requirements into meaningful KPIs and reporting solutions.
• Experience within the construction industry would be advantageous
