This is a senior role for a professional with strong experience in Operational Resilience, together with exposure to cybersecurity standards, guidelines, regulatory frameworks and directives. The successful candidate will play an important role in assessing resilience, supporting compliance and contributing to the development of robust operational resilience practices across complex organisations.

The Role:
  • Provide specialist expertise in Operational Resilience, including the assessment, inspection and audit of regulatory requirements.
  • Lead and support the identification and assessment of critical entities and organisations potentially within scope of operational resilience requirements.
  • Assess organisations' resilience measures to determine whether they are proportionate, risk-based and effectively implemented across both physical and cyber domains.
  • Identify areas of non-compliance and provide expert advice on appropriate remediation.
  • Assess the implementation of an all-hazards approach to resilience, including risks arising from natural disasters, sabotage, terrorism and infrastructure failure.
  • Lead and support operational resilience supervision, assurance and enforcement activities, including remediation and follow-up assessments and audits.
  • Provide expert input into resilience strategies, policies and programmes.
  • Participate in national and European working groups, collaborating with other agencies, organisations and competent authorities.
  • Provide guidance and support to internal teams and external stakeholders on operational resilience and cybersecurity matters.
  • Manage operational resilience, business continuity specialists and external advisors where required.
  • Mentor and support team members, helping to develop capability and drive continuous improvement.
The Person:
  • Third-level qualification, ideally in Cybersecurity, Science, Technology, Engineering or a related discipline, or significant relevant senior-level experience.
  • Strong recent experience in a senior Operational Resilience, Business Continuity, Risk, Assurance or related role.
  • Proven experience working within a regulated or highly regulated environment.
  • Strong understanding of Operational Resilience and its application across complex organisations.
  • Experience assessing risk, resilience measures, controls and compliance.
  • Good exposure to cybersecurity standards, guidelines and regulatory frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST CSF, DORA and GDPR.
  • Knowledge of European cybersecurity and operational resilience directives and legislation, including NIS/NIS2 and CER, would be highly advantageous.
  • Experience supporting or conducting inspections, audits, assurance reviews or compliance assessments would be an advantage.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with senior internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience managing projects, programmes, technical resources or specialist teams would be advantageous.

Professional qualifications such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC, CISA or ISO 27001 Lead Auditor would be an advantage, but relevant senior experience will also be considered.
