Cybersecurity Engineer – Operational Resilience
Salary: €90,000 DOE + Amazing Public Sector Benefits
Location: Dublin City Centre - Hybrid
Our client is expanding its Cybersecurity & Resilience Regulation function and is seeking two senior Cybersecurity Engineer – Operational Resilience.
This is a high-impact opportunity to work across NIS2, CER, cybersecurity, regulatory assurance and critical infrastructure resilience, helping critical organisations prepare for, respond to and recover from major disruptions.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Lead operational resilience assessments, inspections and audits of regulated organisations.
- Assess resilience and compliance requirements under NIS2 and CER.
- Evaluate resilience measures across physical and cyber environments.
- Assess preparedness for cyber incidents, infrastructure failures, natural disasters and other major disruptions.
- Identify non-compliance and support remediation, follow-up audits and enforcement activities.
- Contribute to national resilience strategy and Irish and European working groups.
- Coordinate specialists and external advisors while mentoring team members.
What We're Looking For:
- NFQ Level 8 qualification in Cybersecurity, Science, Technology, Engineering or a related discipline, or significant relevant senior experience.
- Recent senior experience within a regulated or regulatory environment.
- Strong Operational Resilience experience across advisory, assurance and/or risk management.
- Experience within Digital Infrastructure, Digital Providers, ICT Service Management and/or Space sectors.
- Previous engagement with Irish or EU regulatory authorities.
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of NIS2, CER, DORA, GDPR, ISO 27001, NIST or CSF.
- Experience with regulatory inspections, audits, compliance assessments or risk‑based supervision.
- Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC, CISA or ISO 27001 Lead Auditor.
- Risk assessment, IT audit, technical management or programme/project management experience.
- Experience delivering large‑scale security or resilience initiatives.
- Experience developing resilience assurance models, including technical testing and control validation.
- Master's degree or relevant cybersecurity leadership qualification.
