Job summary

DB Recruitment is seeking a Senior Cyber Security Engineer based in Ireland’s Leinster to design and deploy enterprise security solutions and implement layered controls across infrastructure and applications.

The role requires 5+ years in cyber security, a related degree, and hands-on experience with IAM, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and EDR in cloud/hybrid environments. You will conduct secure architecture reviews and lead incident response efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Cyber Security, CS, IT, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years in cyber security or security engineering roles.
• Strong knowledge of networking protocols, cloud/infrastructure security, IAM, and security frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Design and deploy enterprise security solutions.


• Implement layered security controls across infrastructure and applications.


• Conduct secure architecture reviews and threat modelling.


• Apply Zero Trust and defence-in-depth principles.


• Access Firewall configuration, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and network segmentation.


• Access proposed network, infrastructure and changes.


• Secure cloud and hybrid environments (e.g., Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure).


• Harden servers (Linux/Windows) according to industry best practices.


• Manage endpoint protection and EDR solutions.


• Support monitoring of SIEM tools for suspicious activity.


• Support the Investigation of security alerts and lead incident response activities.


• Support implementation of compliance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001, NIST).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).


• 5 years plus of experience in cyber security or security engineering roles.
