Job summary

Verizon is seeking a Strategic Sourcing Specialist in a hybrid role based in Ireland. The role oversees development and execution of sourcing contracts to optimize total contract value, coordinating with legal and procurement teams and managing supplier relationships.

You will negotiate terms, lead cross-functional teams, and ensure compliant contract management while focusing on cost, time, and quality across multiple categories.

What you’ll be doing...

Strategic Sourcing Specialist position is responsible for the development and execution of sourcing contracts across the enterprise to achieve the best total contract value.

As Sourcing Specialist, you shall be responsible for the negotiation and execution of sourcing contracts across the Verizon business teams to achieve the optimum total contract value for Verizon. You'll be required to effectively manage the steps of the sourcing process including;

• Supplier Due Diligence
• Sourcing request review
• Contract creation
• Contract drafting and review with Verizon's contract management and legal teams together with various stakeholders throughout Verizon
• IRQ management
• CAS initiation and contract execution

You’ll be negotiating sourcing contracts to procure materials and services we need, at the right price, time place and quality, while mitigating the risk. Our purchasing power combined with your skills and expertise will help us maintain our market-leading position. You will play an important role in making our Supply Chain practice a World-Class organization through following activities:

• Working in an agile way and effectively managing a variety of contracts across different categories with a large supply base to meet business demands and CST commitments
• Performing financial and business data analysis of Verizon requirements to ensure Total Value of Ownership and technical capabilities of the Suppliers
• Supporting documents and process development
• Managing the cross-functional teams (CFTs), following strategic sourcing processes, performing contract negotiation, contract administration including effectively utilizing sourcing systems
• Leading negotiations on the contract terms, with the suppliers and executing the contract in liaison with the Legal and contract management team that bring in the best possible cost service guarantee and develop "win-win" strategies that achieve sustainable relationships with suppliers
• Executing supplier relationship management activities as applicable for key assigned suppliers within the assigned categories, with oversight regarding supplier relationship management
• Partnering with category teams, legal, business leads, and contract liaisons to streamline the contract lifecycle and maintain clear, proactive communication across key stakeholder

What we’re looking for...

• Bachelor's degree and/or relevant work experience in procurement, sourcing or supply chain.
• Certifications in CPSM/CPM/CIPS.
• Experience leading meetings/conference calls and give presentations to small audiences.
• Knowledge of Verizon approved AI Tools like Gemini and Gemini Notebook.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

• Ability to draft the Statement of works/Work Orders, Master agreements/Amendments and other contractual documents independently
• Experience in Ariba, SAP, Google Suite & Microsoft Suite applications.
• Experience in Indirect or Tech Services or IT Sourcing.
• Knowledge of data analysis, forecasting tools and ability to develop measurable insights from data.
• Knowledge of the legal language, terminologies related to contracting.
• Lean Six Sigma experience.
• Willingness to work a flexible shift to meet project completion requirements.
• Willingness to continuously learn new tools, solutions, and emerging technologies
