Job summary

SpaceX in Dublin, Ireland is seeking a Telecommunications Counsel to guide the business through European and African laws governing telecom and satellite services. This onsite role requires 5+ years of regulatory experience in telecom and/or satellite sectors.

You will advise on applicable laws, monitor policy developments, and liaise with government agencies to support licensing and compliance across Europe and Africa.

Responsibilities

COUNSEL, TELECOMMUNICATIONS

Starlink, our revolutionary satellite constellation, is delivering low-latency broadband internet worldwide. As a Telecommunications Counsel, you will help the business understand and navigate applicable laws and regulations in Europe and Africa.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Advise the Starlink team on the laws, regulations, and policies that impact our business in Europe and parts of Africa, particularly laws relating to telecommunications and internet services
• Analyze legal and regulatory risks and communicate them to the business and technical teams to enable sound compliance decisions and to support telecommunications and other business licensing in Europe and Africa
• Monitor legal and policy developments related to the Starlink business
• Interface with governmental agencies periodically concerning regulatory , consumer protection and law enforcement matters

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• 5+ years of professional experience with regulatory compliance matters in the telecommunications industry related to broadband and/or satellite services
• Juris Doctor, Bachelor of Laws or equivalent degree from an accredited institution
• Active license to practice law in at least one jurisdiction

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Fluency in French and/or Portuguese
• Knowledge of telecommunications business and regulatory issues outside of the U.S.
• Prior experience managing legal issues for a high-growth multinational company

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• This position is based in Dublin, Ireland and requires being onsite - remote and hybrid work will not be considered
• Must be available to work extended hours and weekends as needed
