Job summary

Turner & Townsend is seeking a Cost and Finance Manager to be the key interface between PMO Cost and ML Finance, coordinating the cost control and data collation for our projects in Ireland.

The role involves setting up cost control structures, delivering funding forecasts and monthly updates, and collaborating with Commercial and Finance teams to ensure budgets and spend stay aligned with project commitments.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent with professional work experience in one or more specific disciplines in the Project, Cost or Commercial Management disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Raise PO requisitions after data is provided and approved.
• Liaise on payment certificates and inform PMO of pre-payment agreements.
• Review, audit and validate cashflow and cost-to-complete forecasts.
• Use CEMAR for change data and update baselines with cost impacts.
• Use SAGE to pull actuals each period.
• Support Finance with monthly cost reports and asset register updates.
• Compile and analyse data affecting costs and project budgets.
• Present cost status in reviews with project controls and clients.

Job Description

The Cost and Finance Manager is to be the key interface between PMO Cost and ML Finance to collate the financial data and manage the daily activities of the cost control and cost data collation.

Set up, implement, and maintain cost control structure and process for completing the financial task and collate and submit data on-time. The successful candidate will provide periodical funding forecasts and monthly updates for projects incorporating progress updates.

Key Accountabilities

• Contract cost management (informed of all changes and report to the PMO)
• Raise PO Requisitions, after commercial have provided the data and been through the approval process.
• Liaise on payment certificates, inform PMO of pre-payment agreements.
• Communicate independently with Commercial team to review, audit and validate cashflow each period and cost-to-complete forecasts.
• Use of CEMAR for change data and reporting to the PMO when changes have been approved and baselines are to be updated with cost impacts.
• Use of SAGE to pull actuals each period.
• Work with Finance to prepare annual Financial statements and future commitments.
• Support Finance with reporting monthly on claimed funding and forecast of spend/commitment.
• Support Finance with financial statements asset register update
• Compile and analyse data on all factors that influence costs.
• Prepare and provide cost data for the monthly cost reports to control and monitor projects total expenditure and ensure that expenditures are kept within the project budget.
• Attend in-house cost control review meetings with the project controls managers/delivery managers/commercial manager and present/answer questions related to project cost.
• Attend either project progress as well as cost status review meetings with the Client and present/answer question related to project cost or keeps themselves fully informed through the minutes of meeting.
• Support the validation and consolidate project monthly dashboards and reports, and raise any issues and concerns
• Manage cost risk and opportunity assessments, supporting mitigation strategies and contingency planning.
• Contribute to benchmarking, lessons learned, and best practice initiatives across the organisation.
• Demonstrates leadership, interface management and core competencies at a managerial level of development and is an exemplary model of living the corporate Values and Code of Ethics
• Ensure risks & opportunities are identified and support the Risk Reviews.
• Demonstrating a clear, systematic approach to solving complex issues and can communicate solutions in an effective, efficient, high-level manner.
