Job summary

NHS Scotland is looking for a catering supervisor to join the Stratheden Hospital team in North East Fife. You will supervise catering staff, plan and present menu items for patients, staff and visitors, and help maintain a clean, safe work environment.

Essential: Food Hygiene Certificate with experience in large-scale catering; flexible shifts across early to late hours, PVG checks, and eligibility to work in the UK. Weekend uplift applies and generous holiday allowance.

  • City and Guilds 706/1 & 706/2 or NVQ Level 3 or equivalent required.

Job description

An opportunity has arisen to join our dedicated team of Support Services staff within North East Fife catering department based at Stratheden Hospital.

Duties include supervision of all catering staff, preparing, producing and presenting the menu items required for the food service to patients, staff and visitors. Assisting with maintaining a clean safe working environment for the delivery of the catering service.

An up to date Food Hygiene Certificate is essential and an Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate would be desirable. Relevant catering qualifications City and Guilds 706/1 & 706/2, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, and previous experience of working within a large scale catering environment are essential.

A degree of flexibility is required to cover for annual leave or sickness within Stratheden & North East Fife. Uniform and PPE are supplied, inclusion to the workplace pension scheme, and family friendly policies apply. Enhanced rates of pay for working at weekends time +37% Saturday and time +74% Sunday. Generous holiday entitlement, on commencement 27days and 8 Public Holidays each year.

To cover the needs of the service a range of shifts are as follows, earliest start 6.30am, latest finish 6pm.
