Aspira Waterford Kingston Retirement Living in Kingston, Ontario, is seeking a motivated Part-Time Cook to prepare nutritious, high‑quality meals for residents. You will follow recipes, respect dietary preferences, maintain food temperatures, manage portions, and contribute to creating enjoyable dining experiences that support residents’ health, comfort, and dignity every day.

You’ll need hands‑on kitchen experience in institutional or hospitality settings, plus Safe Food Handling and/or Smart

Competenze

• Hands-on experience preparing meals in a fast-paced kitchen such as institutional, health care, restaurant, or hospitality settings.
• Ability to meet prescribed dietary requirements, proper food temperatures, and portion control while maintaining quality.
• Experience monitoring quality of food supplies and assisting with order/purchasing as needed.

What you’ll be doing:

You will be a welcomed team member, working in a fast-paced environment where you will make a meaningful difference in residents’ lives. As a Cook , you will prepare nutritious, high-quality meals while gaining an understanding of residents’ dietary needs, preferences, and cultural considerations. You will contribute to creating enjoyable dining experiences that support residents’ health and well-being. As an individual and part of a wider team, you will be a strong contributor to the culture of the home, where the focus is always on helping residents live fully, every day.

What makes you a great fit?

• You have hands-on experience preparing meals and snacks in a fast-paced kitchen, following recipes, production sheets, and menu guidelines.


• You understand the importance of meeting prescribed dietary requirements, proper food temperatures, and portion control while maintaining high quality standards.


• Monitoring quality of food supplies received and advises team leader of problems and makes recommendations about corrective action


• In the absence of the team leader, assumes responsibility for departmental operations including menu changes as necessary, requisitions and purchases food and other supplies from authorized suppliers

What you need to know:

• A valid Safe Food Handling Certificate and/or Smart Serve certificate


• Experience with cooking in institutional, health care, restaurant, or hospitality


• You must be legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work/study permit


• You must successfully pass a Vulnerable Sector Check
