Job description

Dublin | Permanent | Financial Services

Are you an experienced Financial Controller ready to broaden your influence in an international financial services environment? This is an opportunity to join a well-established asset servicing organisation in Dublin, gain exposure across global markets and play a central role in a finance function that supports a diverse institutional client base.

Reporting to the Team Manager, Finance, you will take an active role in management accounts, financial reporting, regulatory returns, forecasting and treasury. You will help strengthen financial controls, turn data into meaningful insight and work with stakeholders across an international group—giving you both day-to-day ownership and the scope to make a visible impact.

Key responsibilities
  • Drive the preparation and delivery of annual statutory accounts, working confidently with internal and external auditors and tax advisers.
  • Shape quarterly income forecasts and the annual income budget.
  • Play a key role in month-end and quarter-end close, analysing and clearly explaining movements against prior periods and budget.
  • Deliver insightful monthly management information covering aged debtors, asset values and movements, and client income.
  • Prepare detailed accounts, statistics and variance commentary for Group Head Office.
  • Create high-quality monthly management packs and quarterly Board papers that support informed decision-making.
  • Coordinate monthly, quarterly and annual regulatory returns, including RS2, RV2, RC2, CRS2, SQ2, MTS and FinRep.
  • Support bi-monthly VAT returns and annual corporate tax returns.
  • Take ownership of cash-flow planning, liquidity and banking relationships, overseeing treasury activities including payments, investment accounts and credit facilities.
  • Maintain strong financial control through accounts payable and accounts receivable reconciliations, resolving or escalating issues promptly.
  • Champion improvements to finance processes, systems and performance.
  • Build strong relationships with finance colleagues across the international group and contribute to varied projects beyond the core reporting cycle.
You will need the following:
  • A third-level qualification in accounting or a related discipline, together with a recognised professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent.
  • At least five years’ post-qualification experience in a comparable financial control or management accounting role.
  • A strong track record across reconciliations, financial reporting, month-end and quarter-end close, budgeting, forecasting and management reporting.
  • Advanced Excel skills and confidence using Microsoft Office; Power BI experience would be a welcome advantage.
  • Knowledge of SAP, VAT returns and corporate tax returns would be beneficial.
  • A sharp analytical mindset, excellent organisation and attention to detail, and the ability to turn complex information into clear conclusions.
  • A proactive, self-motivated approach, with the resilience to deliver excellent work to tight deadlines in a fast-moving environment.
  • Clear business communication skills in English, sound judgement and the confidence to work independently while building effective relationships across a collaborative team.
  • Curiosity, adaptability and a genuine interest in improving how finance works.
What is in it for you?
  • A competitive compensation package, bonus opportunity and flexible benefits.
  • Flexible working options designed to support how you work best.
  • Supportive leadership, coaching and meaningful development opportunities.
  • Valuable exposure to experienced professionals in an international financial services environment.
  • A varied position where your ideas and improvements can make a lasting difference.
  • A dynamic, collaborative and high-performing team culture.
  • High-quality training and clear scope to continue building your financial services career.
