We are seeking a Control Engineer to join our engineering team in Letterkenny. This is an exciting opportunity to work on highly customised modular Data Centre and Telecom solutions, supporting projects from initial design through factory integration, testing, commissioning, and customer handover.

About the Role

As a Control Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, validation, and commissioning of Building Management Systems (BMS), electrical systems, fire alarm systems, and security systems within modular infrastructure projects. Working closely with architectural, structural, mechanical, manufacturing, and commissioning teams, you will help deliver industry-leading solutions that meet the highest technical and quality standards.

This role offers hands-on involvement across the full project lifecycle, providing excellent exposure to controls engineering, automation technologies, factory integration, and critical infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop BMS and electrical manufacturing documentation.
  • Specify electrical, controls, and BMS equipment required for factory integration.
  • Prepare and manage bills of quantities for project execution.
  • Support material selection and procurement activities.
  • Provide engineering supervision and support during modular factory integration activities in Letterkenny.
  • Configure and commission BMS equipment, including:
  • PLCs
  • Network switches
  • Servers
  • Operator workstations
  • Develop Level 1-3 factory testing and site commissioning procedures.
  • Support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) activities.
  • Produce and maintain as-built documentation.
  • Prepare installation manuals and technical documentation.
  • Provide commissioning support during site installation and project deployment.
  • Design and validate fire alarm system documentation.
  • Design and validate security system documentation.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Support multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Controls Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, OneDrive, and Teams.
  • Strong interest in controls engineering, automation systems, electrical design, and industrial technologies.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic project environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS).
  • Knowledge of PLCs, industrial networking, and automation systems.
  • Experience with electrical design documentation.
  • Exposure to fire alarm, security, or critical infrastructure systems.
  • Experience in Data Centre, Telecom, Industrial, or Building Services projects.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD or other engineering design software.
