Job summary

BAM UK & Ireland is recruiting a Contracts Manager to lead a major site in Dublin. You will deliver on multi-phase construction projects, manage a large team, coordinate with the client and design team, and uphold safety, quality and environmental standards.

The role requires a Degree or Higher Diploma in Engineering/Quantity Surveying/Construction Management with at least 10 years in large-scale projects, including precast frame installation.

Qualifications

  • Degree / Higher Diploma qualification in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or equivalent.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience on large-scale complex projects.
  • Experience delivering a large-scale project in a tight time frame and on a live site/campus.
  • Experience of precast frame installation.
  • Excellent working knowledge of latest building regulation and certification standards.

Responsibilities

  • Overall responsibility for the management of one of the large-scale sites reporting directly to the Construction Director.
  • Deliver the project, manage a large staff and ensure client requirements are met with top Safety, Quality and environmental standards.
  • Lead project construction team to ensure works meet quality, Health & Safety and environmental standards.
  • Prepare Project Execution Plan including Contracting Strategy, Programme, budget, and risks mitigation.
  • Manage daily operation of the site and project budget/contract administration in conjunction with the Project Quantity Surveyor.

Overall responsibility for the Management of one of the large-scale sites reporting directly to the Construction Director. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall delivery of the project, managing a large staff and ensuring that the client's requirements are met whilst maintaining the highest Safety, Quality and environmental standards.

The project must be delivered with a focus on sustainability. From design through delivery. The ability to communicate effectively with both client and design team. Be the main Point of contact for the client with responsibility for engaging with the client in conjunction with the commercial manager on site commercial decisions.

Provide leadership to the project construction team to ensure works are carried out to the required quality, Health & Safety, and environmental standards, in full compliance with the Planning Permission. Preparation of the Project Execution Plan including Contracting Strategy, Programme, budget, and risks mitigation plan. Responsible for managing the daily operation of the site.

Management of the Project Budget and Contract Administration in conjunction with the Project Quantity Surveyor. Programme management and adjustment of programmes as required to facilitate any changes (In conjunction with project planner/programmer) Liaison with Planning/Development Team to ensure project value-engineered during the Pre-Construction Stage. Management of the Project Design Team during construction to ensure coordination of information flow to the site teams. Coordination of key project stakeholders including statutory authorities and liaison with JV Project partners if necessary. Implementation of best practice in project controls, performance management, and Project Reporting.

What’s in it for you? Degree / Higher Diploma qualification in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or equivalent. The ideal candidate should have a min 10 years' experience working on large scale complex projects with multiple phased handovers. Previous experience delivering a largescale project in a tight time frame and on a live site/campus. Experience of Precast frame installation. Excellent working knowledge of latest building regulation and certification standards.
