Job description

Salary: €125 - €155 per hour, depending on experience.

Location: Blanchardstown, County Dublin OR Gorey, County Wexford.

At Evolve Ireland, we do things differently. Founded in 2014 by Dr Laura Powling, Evolve Psychology began with a bold aim to redefine what clinical and neurodevelopmental psychology means in practice. Laura’s vision was simple yet powerful: to bring care, connection, empathy, and clinical excellence together, with no compromise.

What started as a small practice delivering expert witness and neurodevelopmental assessments has grown into an international independent psychology and neurodevelopmental service providing services across the UK, Ireland and beyond.

In Ireland, we are regionally and nationally approved by the HSE to deliver neurodevelopmental and single discipline SLT and OT assessments. We also accept privately funded referrals. We specialise in a number of different assessment pathways which include:

  • Neurodevelopmental assessments through the HSE Assessment of Need (AON) pathway
  • Multi-disciplinary Autism Assessments, delivered under the National Framework for Autism Assessments
  • Specialist assessments on behalf of regional Children’s Disability Network Teams (CDNTs)
  • Specialist individual assessments by Occupational Therapists and Speech and Language Therapists alone or as part of a multidisciplinary assessment under AON or via CDNT referral
  • Comprehensive assessments of intellectual ability
  • Privately funded neurodevelopmental assessments
  • Privately funded SpLD (Dyslexia and Dyscalculia) assessments
About the Role

Due to continued growth, we are seeking a Contract Psychiatrist to join our passionate and supportive multidisciplinary team dedicated to making a meaningful difference in the lives of children, young people and adults.

Our service specialises in high-quality, evidence-based assessments for autism, ADHD, intellectual disability, communication and coordination difficulties under the Assessment of Need pathway, alongside private work.

As a Psychiatrist will be responsible for:
  • Providing specialist assessment, diagnosis, treatment, prescribing, and ongoing clinical management for children, adolescents, and adults referred for ADHD assessment and management, and related neurodevelopmental conditions.
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to support diagnostic decision-making and treatment planning.
  • Prescribe and monitor ADHD medications in line with Irish legislation, professional standards, and best-practice guidelines.
  • Develop personalised treatment plans, provide psychoeducation, and support shared-care arrangements with GPs.
  • Conduct risk and safeguarding assessments, escalating concerns and implementing safety plans where required.
  • Participate in safeguarding reviews and multidisciplinary safeguarding discussions.
  • Maintain high standards of clinical governance, documentation, prescribing, and quality assurance.
  • Contribute to service development and continuous improvement.
Qualifications & Training
  • Primary Medical Degree (MB BCh BAO, MBBS, MD, or equivalent recognised qualification).
  • Full registration with the Irish Medical Council.
  • Specialist Registration in Psychiatry with the Irish Medical Council Specialist Division.
  • Specialist Training in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, or General Adult Psychiatry
  • Additional postgraduate training in ADHD, Autism, Neurodevelopmental Psychiatry, Behavioural Paediatrics, Psychological Therapies, or Leadership and Management would be desirable
Required Experience
  • Experience assessing, diagnosing, and treating ADHD across the lifespan.
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary diagnostic teams.
  • Experience assessing psychiatric comorbidities and conducting risk/safeguarding assessments in children, adolescents and adults
  • In-depth knowledge of DSM-5 diagnostic criteria (or equivalent) for autism, ADHD, and intellectual disability.
  • Experience contributing to service development and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Must be eligible to work in the Republic of Ireland.

Our clinicians can contribute to the Evolve International Skills & Research Academy, developing training and post-assessment support for families and educational providers, shaping neuroinclusive content, or collaborating on research, all part of our broader mission to raise awareness and improve support for neurodivergent individuals, educational institutions and workplaces.
  • We have a strong, values-led culture. Compassion, clarity, and integrity guide everything we do, from our team interactions to the way we support families.
  • Multi‑channel employee engagement- A dedicated, holistic approach to employee engagement and wellbeing. Including online community information forum, team meetings, company events, open feedback forums, management Q& A sessions, employee recognition and awards.
