Job summary

Pivotal Recruitment Limited is seeking an experienced Quality Control Auditor to join a construction team in County Clare. The role focuses on implementing and monitoring the Quality Management System across projects to ensure highest standards.

You will conduct site QA/QC audits, prepare detailed reports, and drive corrective actions while assisting with BCAR compliance and project handover documentation.

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years' experience in QA/QC, site engineer or construction quality-focused role.
• Main contractor experience is highly desirable.
• Trades background or related Construction Management degree.
• Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, sequencing and quality standards.
• Experience on large-scale commercial/residential/mixed-use projects.

Job Specification - Quality Control Auditor

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Quality Control Auditor to join one of our client's construction teams based in County Clare.

The Quality Control Auditor will play a key role in ensuring the effective implementation, monitoring and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS) across construction projects.

Working closely with the QAQC Manager, Project Teams and Site Management, the successful candidate will conduct quality audits, monitor compliance and support the delivery of projects to the highest quality and regulatory standards.

Role and Responsibilities

• Support the development, implementation and continuous improvement of Quality Management Systems.
• Conduct structured internal audits and site-based QAQC audits across live construction projects.
• Prepare detailed audit reports and quality documentation using Procore or similar construction management software.
• Develop, implement and monitor quality procedures across projects.
• Identify, investigate and close out non-conformances.
• Drive appropriate corrective and preventative actions and monitor these through to completion.
• Support project teams with BC(A)R compliance and project handover documentation.
• Develop and maintain Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), check sheets and quality tracking systems.
• Mentor and support site teams, providing guidance on quality procedures and construction best practice.
• Promote quality awareness through ongoing training and support.
• Support customer complaint investigations and product performance reviews where required.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date quality records, reports and management dashboards.
• Ensure quality documentation is accurately maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
• Work closely with project teams to ensure compliance with Irish Building Regulations and certification requirements.
• Promote a culture of accountability, compliance, quality and continuous improvement across projects.

Requirements

• 3-5+ years' experience in a QAQC, Site Engineer or construction quality-focused role.
• Previous experience within a main contractor environment is highly desirable.
• Trades background or relevant third-level qualification in Construction Management or a related discipline.
• Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, sequencing and best-practice quality standards.
• Experience working on large-scale commercial, residential or mixed-use construction projects.
• Strong understanding of Irish Building Regulations and certification requirements.
• Good knowledge and understanding of BC(A)R processes.
• Proficiency in Procore or similar construction management software.
• Lean Construction experience or qualification is advantageous.
• Experience developing and managing ITPs, check sheets and quality documentation.
• Strong understanding of non-conformance, corrective action and close-out procedures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail with a methodical and highly organised approach.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively with project teams.
