Job summary

Topic is seeking a construction professional to manage site staff and sub-contractors, enforce health and safety, and monitor progress against the programme.

The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years in a similar role, strong building knowledge, and excellent communication. Procore experience is helpful, with based-in-Longford availability and a focus on cost control and project delivery.

Qualifications

• Engineering or construction qualification and 5-7 years’ experience in similar role.
• Team management experience and ability to mentor and develop junior staff.
• Good time management skills and ability to meet agreed deadlines.
• Must have strong knowledge of building detail and construction technology
• Excellent written, oral communication and time management skills
• Strong IT skills with use of Word, Excel, MS Project
• Procore experience helpful.
• Based in Longford

Responsibilities

• Manage site staff and sub-contractors to ensure works progress as planned.
• Ensure all health and safety procedures are implemented.
• Establish and monitor the construction programme.
• Check drawings and specifications; communicate errors to design team.
• Review designs for buildability and cost saving while maintaining quality.
• Coordinate information flow from design team and prepare information/Schedules as needed.
• Coordinate long-lead materials or subcontract packages.
• Maintain liaison with contracts manager and construction director to meet targets.
• Work with project QS’s to manage finances and budgets.
• Monitor construction quality of workmanship and materials.
• Maintain cost effectiveness through resource use.
• Ensure compliance with drawings, specs, regs and best practices.
• Establish project resource requirements and lead the project team.
• Ensure compliance with local statutory obligations.
• Provide weekly/monthly progress reports to management.
