Job summary

Cairn Homes is seeking a Health and Safety Officer for a residential construction site in North Dublin. The role reports to the Health and Safety Manager and focuses on implementing Cairn Homes safety management systems while contributing to project delivery.

The candidate should have at least 4 years’ experience in construction safety, possess an Occupational Health and Safety qualification, and be adept at coordinating with site management, contractors, and statutory bodies to ensure

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years’ experience in managing safety systems in construction.
• Member of IOSH preferred.
• Able to drive H&S on-site within the management system.
• Strong relationship builder across project stakeholders and statutory bodies.
• Ability to manage risk and implement control measures.
• Capable of chairing and delivering H&S meetings and presentations.

Responsibilities

• Work with Cairn Homes Construction management to ensure a safe and productive site.
• Improve safety standards within the management system and on site.
• Monitor and enforce Cairn Homes H&S Management System.
• Identify site hazards and address them in site documentation and practice.
• Coordinate with H&S Manager and maintain clear communication lines.
• Maintain site folders and statutory records on site.
• Ensure contractors adhere to site rules.
• Assist in complying with statutory H&S requirements.
• Assist in risk assessments and improvements to Safe Systems of Work.
• Coordinate safe systems of work for contractors.
• Support disciplinary procedures related to H&S on site.
• Support H&S auditing and address non-conformances.
• Contribute to accident and incident investigations.
• Contribute to toolbox talks and training needs.
