Elk Recruitment in Wicklow is seeking a driven Health & Safety Advisor to join our client’s growing team based in Wicklow. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Health and Safety Advisor to make a real impact in an innovative and growing organization.

The role focuses on implementing safety management systems, conducting risk assessments, coordinating training, and promoting best practices across construction projects.

Qualifications

• Relevant degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
• 3+ years construction experience.
• Strong understanding of Health and Safety regulations and practices.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Maintain close working relationship with business teams to provide active assistance and advise to ensure the effective implementation of the Group Safety Management System.
• Participate in appointing competent persons to undertake key safety roles and coordinate training needs with managers.
• Ensure risk assessment processes are established for production, approval, communication, implementation and monitoring.
• Monitor procedures for lifting operations, temporary works, inductions, fire and emergencies, permits and other safety procedures.
• Participate in setting up and maintaining safety committees.
• Ensure risks to third parties/contractors are understood and actioned.
• Contribute ideas to continuously develop the Group Safety Management System.
• Maintain knowledge of health and safety matters relevant to works and liaise with safety managers and associations.
• Ensure accident investigations are properly carried out and reports produced.
