Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Concrete Placing and Finishing Foreman role based in Cork. The Foreman oversees daily concrete placing and finishing activities, coordinating crews, equipment, and materials to meet project schedules and quality standards. Responsibilities include reading and interpreting drawings, setting out work areas, supervising formwork, reinforcement, pouring, and finishing operations, and ensuring compliance with safety procedures. The role involves monitoring workmanship, addressing site issues, communicating with site management and subcontractors, and maintaining accurate records of progress and materials used. The Foreman also supports training and guidance for team members to ensure consistent standards across all site activities.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in concrete placing, finishing, and supervision on RC projects.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and method statements.
• Strong knowledge of site safety regulations, safe systems of work, and risk assessments.
• Proven leadership skills with experience coordinating crews, subcontractors, and site logistics.
• Competence in using relevant tools, machinery, and equipment for concrete works.
• Good communication and organizational skills, with the ability to report progress clearly.
• Relevant construction qualifications or trade certification; foreperson or supervisory training is an advantage.
• Experience in civil engineering or commercial construction environments, preferably in Cork or similar markets.
