As a Deputy MLRO on the Institutional AML/CTF Compliance team, you'll execute anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing programs across Coinbase's international entities, including Coinbase Bermuda Services Limited, Coinbase Bermuda Limited, Coinbase Custody International, and the CBIE Trust. This team protects Coinbase's customers and licenses by maintaining robust AML/CTF controls, transaction monitoring, and regulatory reporting across multiple jurisdictions. You'll act with delegated authority from the Chief Compliance Officer and MLRO, leading day-to-day compliance operations including suspicious transaction reporting, customer due diligence reviews, governance reporting, and regulatory correspondence across Ireland and Bermuda.

What you'll do:

• Lead day-to-day AML/CTF compliance operations with delegated authority from the Chief Compliance Officer and MLRO, including transaction monitoring, alert review, and escalation of suspicious activity across all covered entities.

• Drive the development, preparation, and presentation of materials for required AML Compliance Governance Committee meetings, ensuring leadership has clear visibility into program health and risk.

• Prepare and file Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) and other regulatory filings for assigned entities, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely submission to the relevant authorities in each jurisdiction.

• Conduct customer due diligence (CDD) and enhanced due diligence (EDD) reviews, assessing customer risk profiles and escalating complex or high-risk cases as appropriate.

• Monitor regulatory developments across Ireland and Bermuda, flagging relevant changes to the MLRO and contributing to policy and procedure updates.

• Partner with internal teams including CX, Legal, and Operations to ensure consistency in compliance processes and support responses to regulatory inquiries or examinations.

Required Skills and Experience:

• 6+ years of experience in AML/CTF compliance, financial crimes, or a related compliance function within financial services, fintech, or a regulated entity, with experience operating in a Deputy MLRO or senior compliance role with delegated authority.

• Working knowledge of AML/CTF legislation in Ireland and/or Bermuda, including the Criminal Justice (Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing) Act 2010 (as amended), CBI guidance, EU Anti-Money Laundering Directives, and/or the Bermuda Proceeds of Crime Act and Bermuda Monetary Authority (BMA) requirements.

• Demonstrated experience conducting customer due diligence (CDD/EDD) reviews, transaction monitoring, and preparing suspicious transaction reports or equivalent regulatory filings across multiple entities or jurisdictions.

• Proven ability to contribute to compliance governance processes, including preparing reporting and materials for governance committees and senior leadership.

• Utilizes generative AI responsibly, maintaining human oversight to deliver business-ready outputs and drive measurable improvements in workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.

The target annual base salary for this position can range as detailed below. Total compensation may also include equity and bonus eligibility and benefits (including medical, dental, and vision).

€79.900-€79.900 EUR
