Job summary

Children’s Health Ireland invites applications for a Healthcare Assistant to assist with patient care under the supervision and direction of nursing or other professional staff. The role supports a patient-centred approach and helps maintain a safe, clean and comfortable environment.

Eligible applicants may hold a QQI Level 5 Health Skills qualification (NFQ Level 5), or an equivalent healthcare qualification, or be currently undertaking the relevant QQI course with a commitment to complete

Qualifications

• Possess a Health Skills QQI Level 5 qualification (NFQ Level 5).
• OR possess a relevant Healthcare qualification at NFQ Level 5.
• OR be currently undertaking Health Skills QQI Level 5 qualification with commitment to complete within 2 years.
• OR be employed in Healthcare Assistant or similar role for at least 2 years and undertake to acquire QQI Level 5 within 2 years.
• AND possess knowledge and ability for proper discharge of the role.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the delivery of patient care under supervision and direction of nursing or other professional staff.
• Support a patient-centred approach and assist in maintaining a safe, clean and comfortable environment.
• Provide care across CHI sites as required in line with organisational needs.
