Job summary

The Irish Wheelchair Association in Cork offers Community Employment (CE) positions at our Day Centre for people with physical and sensory disabilities. This is a developmental opportunity with accredited training provided.

You will support Members during daily activities, assist with leisure activities, accompany outings, help with personal care, and assist with bus transport. Garda vetting and character references are required; Emese Batki is the CE Supervisor for more information.

Responsibilities

• Supporting Members during daily activities in the Day Centre.
• Assisting with leisure activities such as boccia, arts and crafts, drama, cooking and social events.
• Accompanying Members on outings and community trips.
• Assisting with personal care in a respectful and dignified manner.
• Helping with bus transport runs (pickup and drop-off service).
• Safely operating lifting equipment and securing wheelchairs on buses.
• Providing general assistance and light cleaning duties.
• Working as part of a friendly and supportive team.
