Job summary

Irish Wheelchair Association - Cork is seeking a Community Employment (CE) Worker in Blackrock, Cork City. This developmental opportunity offers accredited training to support your career in health and social care, with the chance to work toward a QQI Major Award.

You will join a welcoming team in a Day Centre, supporting members with daily activities, leisure, outings, and personal care, while gaining hands-on experience in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• No prior experience required; accredited training provided.
• Opportunity to work toward a QQI Major Award.
• Weekly payment under CE rates.

Responsibilities

• Support Members during daily activities in the Day Centre.
• Assist with leisure activities such as boccia, arts & crafts, drama, cooking and social events.
• Accompany Members on outings and community trips.
• Assist with personal care in a respectful and dignified manner.
• Help with bus transport runs (pickup and drop-off service).
• Safely operate lifting equipment and secure wheelchairs on buses.
