Blackedge Consulting seeks an Electrical Engineering Lead for data centre programmes in Dublin. This client-side PMC role requires steering electrical design across substations, MV/LV distribution, UPS, and protection systems, while challenging designs to uphold high standards.
You will shape concept development, feasibility studies, and technical strategy, ensuring repeatable, reliable electrical solutions for hyperscale data centres.
Electrical Engineering Lead - Data Centres
I’m working on a genuinely interesting opportunity for an experienced Electrical Engineering Lead to join a major organisation operating at the forefront of large-scale data centre delivery.
This is a PMC / client-side role, so I’m not looking for somebody who simply wants to sit behind a desk producing designs.
You’ll be representing the client from a technical perspective, working closely with General Contractors, design teams, consultants, vendors and delivery partners, challenging designs, reviewing technical solutions and helping ensure major data centre projects are delivered to the required standards.
The role will have a strong focus on critical electrical infrastructure, including:
You’ll also be involved much earlier in the project lifecycle, supporting concept development, feasibility, technical strategy and the development of repeatable electrical solutions for large-scale data centre programmes.
There is a significant technical-authority element to the position. You’ll be expected to understand the detail, challenge the GC where necessary and provide clear technical direction rather than simply monitoring programme and cost.
I’m therefore particularly interested in speaking with Electrical Engineers who have worked within hyperscale, colocation or other mission-critical data centre environments and who are comfortable operating across areas such as substations, MV/LV distribution, generators, UPS, protection and critical power architectures.
Experience of commissioning, energisation, electrical testing and operational readiness would also be highly relevant.
The role is based in Dublin and candidates will need to be based in Dublin. It will also involve extensive travel, so you’ll need to be comfortable spending significant time on projects outside Ireland.
A relevant Electrical Engineering / Power Systems qualification is required, with Chartered status or equivalent professional accreditation advantageous.
