Job summary

Sigmar Recruitment is searching for a Commercial Manager for a growing contracting business in Co. Meath, Ireland. The role oversees multiple projects, ensuring financial performance, contractual compliance and risk management across the portfolio.

Lead a commercial team including Quantity Surveyors, drive strategies to maximise profitability and manage budgets, forecasts and procurement. A senior leadership position with growth opportunities and a strong benefits package.

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or related construction discipline.
• 10+ years' experience in the construction industry with significant commercial management experience.
• Proven experience managing the commercial function on large-scale construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement and commercial risk management.
• Experience leading and developing commercial teams.
• Excellent negotiation, leadership and financial management skills.
• Strong commercial awareness and the ability to influence key business decisions.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the commercial team including Quantity Surveyors.
• Oversee commercial performance from pre-construction to final account.
• Develop and implement commercial strategies to maximise profitability.
• Manage budgets, cost plans, forecasts and financial reporting.
• Oversee procurement, subcontractor negotiations and contract administration.
• Manage contractual claims, variations, disputes and final accounts.
• Identify and mitigate commercial risks across projects.
• Work with Project Directors, Managers and senior management.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, subcontractors and suppliers.
