Job summary

Dornan Engineering Group, based in Dublin, seeks a Commercial Manager to lead our commercial team on flagship projects in the region. You will support delivery on large-scale projects in Dublin, reporting to our Group Commercial Director.

You will oversee pre-construction through final accounts, manage quantity surveying teams, and drive commercial performance and profitability in collaboration with operations and design teams.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or related construction discipline.
• 8–10 years' experience in commercial or quantity surveying roles within construction.
• Experience with a Tier 1 General Contractor on major commercial, industrial, data centre or infrastructure projects.

Commercial Manager - Dublin

Dornan Engineering Group is a leading international engineering contractor delivering high-value projects across Europe, UK & Ireland. Based in Dublin, this is an exciting opportunity to join and lead our commercial team on flagship projects in the region. You will support delivery on largescale projects for us in Dublin, reporting to our group commercial director.

Your Day Will Include

• Leading the commercial management of large-scale construction projects from pre-construction through to final account agreement.
• Managing and developing project quantity surveying teams, providing guidance, mentoring and commercial leadership.
• Overseeing contract administration, risk management, cost control, change management and commercial reporting.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and project stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.
• Reviewing and negotiating subcontractor packages, claims, variations and contractual matters in line with project requirements.
• Collaborating closely with operations, design and project delivery teams to maximise commercial performance and profitability.

About You

• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related construction discipline.
• Possess 8-10 years' experience in commercial or quantity surveying roles within the construction industry.
• Demonstrated experience working with a Tier 1 General Contractor on major commercial, industrial, data centre or infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of construction contracts, procurement strategies, cost management and commercial risk mitigation.
• Proven track record of managing project commercial performance and leading high-performing commercial teams.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels.
