Job summary

Morgan McKinley are exclusively partnering with a growing FMCG business to recruit a Commercial Accountant into their finance team. You will be a key finance partner to the commercial side, owning the P&L for a brand portfolio and working with sales and category teams to drive better financial performance.

You’ll analyse margins, COGS and variances, support budgeting and forecasting, and provide actionable insights to pricing and commercial decisions.

Qualifications

Previous industry/operational finance experience.
Strong understanding of P&L, COGS, margin and working capital.
Experience partnering with non-finance stakeholders.
Strong analytical and Excel skills.
A commercial mindset and genuine curiosity.
The initiative to identify a problem, investigate it and come up with a solution.

Responsibilities

Partner with Sales and Category teams to understand and improve commercial performance.
Take ownership of the P&L for a key brand portfolio.
Analyse actuals, margins, COGS and variances to identify key drivers.
Support budgeting and forecasting and challenging commercial assumptions.
Manage and improve working capital.
Provide financial insight to support pricing, sales and commercial decisions.
Get into the detail behind the numbers and translate into clear recommendations.
Improve processes and reporting across the finance function.
Work with internal and external stakeholders across the wider business.
