Job summary

Northern Trust is seeking a Senior Cloud Architect in Ireland to lead the design, development, and implementation of scalable, secure cloud solutions that align with business goals. The role requires mentoring technical teams and shaping cloud strategy across the enterprise.

The ideal candidate has deep cloud expertise, experience with containerization, serverless architectures, and a track record of large-scale cloud transformations within regulated industries.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in CS, Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years IT experience with at least 5 years in cloud architecture.
• Deep expertise in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud platforms.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Proven ability to lead large cloud transformation initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Architect and design cloud-native and hybrid architectures meeting security and compliance requirements.
• Define and evolve the enterprise cloud strategy, standards, and best practices.
• Lead as a technical adviser across teams to influence cloud adoption and modernization.
• Evaluate emerging technologies to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
• Establish cloud governance frameworks, cost optimization, and operational excellence.
• Collaborate with engineering, security, DevOps, and business stakeholders to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Coach and mentor architects, engineers, and developers on cloud best practices.
