Job summary

SRG is seeking an experienced Senior Azure Security Consultant to lead a cloud security transformation for a major enterprise. You will implement Microsoft Defender for Cloud, optimize CSPM, and enhance threat detection and vulnerability management across complex Azure environments.

You will collaborate with Cloud Engineering, Cyber Security and IT Operations to drive remediation, governance, and security standards, while delivering knowledge transfer and practical guidance to technical teams.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in Cloud/Cyber Security or Security Consulting.
• Hands-on experience deploying Microsoft Defender for Cloud in Azure.
• Strong CSPM experience with remediation prioritisation.
• Experience aligning cloud environments to the Microsoft Cloud Security Benchmark.
• Knowledge of Azure security architecture, governance and best practices.
• Experience with RBAC and Privileged Identity Management (PIM).
• Proven ability to drive cloud security transformation programmes.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication and documentation skills.

Job description

We're seeking an experienced Senior Azure Security Consultant to join a major cloud security transformation programme. This is a hands‑on role focused on enhancing Azure security controls, improving cloud security posture, and driving the implementation of Microsoft security best practices across a large‑scale enterprise environment.

Working alongside Cloud Engineering, Cyber Security and Infrastructure teams, you’ll play a key role in assessing existing security configurations, leading remediation initiatives, and helping shape the organisation’s cloud security operating model.

Required Experience

• 10+ years' experience in Cloud Security, Cyber Security, Security Architecture, or Security Consulting roles
• Proven hands‑on experience deploying and configuring Microsoft Defender for Cloud across Azure environments
• Strong experience with Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM), including assessing, prioritising, and remediating security recommendations
• Experience implementing and aligning cloud environments to the Microsoft Cloud Security Benchmark
• Strong understanding of Azure security architecture, governance, and security best practices
• Experience leading cloud security improvement, remediation, or transformation programmes
• Experience working with Azure Identity and Access Management, including RBAC and Privileged Identity Management (PIM)
• Proven ability to operationalise cloud security processes, standards, and controls
• Experience collaborating with Cloud, Infrastructure, Cyber Security, and IT Operations teams
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, presentation, and documentation skills
• Experience integrating Microsoft Defender for Cloud with Microsoft Sentinel
• Experience designing or supporting Threat Detection & Response (TDR) processes
• Experience developing Cloud Vulnerability Management frameworks and procedures
• Knowledge of Microsoft security technologies, including Microsoft Sentinel, Entra ID, and Defender solutions
• Experience supporting large-scale Azure cloud transformation or security modernisation programmes
• Security Architecture or Cloud Security Architecture background
• Experience delivering knowledge transfer, training, and security best practice guidance to technical teams
• Relevant Microsoft Security or Azure certifications (AZ-500, SC-100, SC-200, AZ-305 or equivalent)

We're looking for a senior cloud security professional who can combine strong technical Azure security expertise with the ability to work across multiple technical and business teams. The ideal candidate will have a track record of delivering security improvements within enterprise Azure environments and be comfortable taking ownership of initiatives from assessment through to implementation.
