Job summary

St James's Hospital Dublin is seeking a Basic Grade Clinical Engineering Technician to provide maintenance service for medical equipment, ensure safety and reliability, and support equipment lifecycle activities across hospital departments. The role contributes to the department's quality management and education ethos.

Qualifications

• Qualification at NFQ Level 7+ in a relevant engineering discipline.
• High standard of suitability and administrative capacity.
• Ability to discharge the duties of the office.

Responsibilities

• Maintain medical equipment to safety, accuracy, and reliability standards.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance and safety assessments of new equipment and services.
• Assist with selection, specification, acceptance testing, commissioning and safety assessment of new equipment and services.
• Support nursing, medical, and allied health staff in patient care involving technology.
• Participate in continuing education and professional development programs.
• Carry out duties across departments and facilities as required.
• Comply with Health and Safety legislation and quality management processes.
