Job summary

Abbott Ireland is seeking a CDS to work in competitive accounts across Dublin to grow market share and drive clinical development in select centers. The role involves training, trial support, and expansion of Abbott technologies within cardiology EP settings.

The candidate will back up core team members, travel extensively, and stay current on EP products, therapies, and country market dynamics. A degree in sciences/engineering is preferred and IBHRE/EHRA accreditation is a plus.

• IBHRE/EHRA accreditation preferred or in progress.
• Medical background is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Execute strategic direction with territory manager and support sales team in engaging trial/use of Abbott technology.

Job description

About the role;

• The CDS role is non-geographically fixed role that works in competitive accounts to create and increase market share.
• CDS will be responsible for clinical development in certain centers.
• Gain market share within detractor accounts and with detractor physicians.
• Back up core team of FTE's where necessary, secondary to core role.

Roles and responsibilities;

• Execute strategic direction per competitor account with territory manager & support sales team in engaging trial/use of Abbott technology. Take on commercial responsibilities as and when required.
• Install responsibility and immersion of FTE in account during trial phase.
• Roll out of LMR and clinical projects.
• Focused on Tier 1 accounts as priority across all relevant customers, secondary is Tier 2.
• Participate in the creation of tailor‑made training programs based on customer needs and requirements and perform product presentations and training to new customers. Training and hand‑over to local FTE in post‑trial phase.
• Provide primary technical support to physicians and nurses during Electrophysiology procedures using Abbott equipment over the assigned territory while bringing new centres/physicians on board.
• Support EP strategy and its execution, by supporting all activities related to the promotion of EP products, including internal and external educational programs, customer clinical training and other Abbott events.
• Respond to technical questions that might be raised by customer personnel.
• Maintain up to date technical knowledge of current and new Abbott products, therapies and technologies as well as a general understanding of the dynamics of the country healthcare market.
• Identify opportunities to convert competitive accounts and physicians to Abbott technologies through clinical support, education, and demonstration of therapy value.
• Develop and execute account penetration strategies in partnership with Territory Managers and Regional Sales leadership.

Knowledge:

• Good computer utilization and presentation skills to include: MS Office (MS Word, MS Excel, Power Point) and Email
• Fluent in English
• Specific knowledge that would constitute a plus for the role (not mandatory):
• Knowledge of the local healthcare market
• In-depth experience in an EP technical role is required
• Familiarity with Cath lab and operating room procedures and
• Strong Cardiac Anatomy & Physiology knowledge
• Experience supporting Electrophysiology procedures in a clinical specialist, technical specialist or related field-based role.
• Full clean driving licence and ability to travel extensively.
