Job summary

TOBIN, a long-standing Dublin/Limerick based engineering consultancy, invites applications for a Project (Civil) Engineer with 4–10 years of civil experience. The role spans residential, healthcare, education, and sports infrastructure, including drainage and water networks, with Chartered status a pathway.

The successful candidate will join a team delivering reports, designs and outputs, liaising with Clients and Irish Water, and coordinating with Project Managers across multiple offices.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 8 Honours Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
• Masters degree may be required to achieve Chartered Status.
• Chartered Membership of Engineers Ireland is desirable/advantageous.
• 4–10 years' experience delivering civil projects.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with Clients to ensure delivery of the appropriate reports, designs and outputs.
• Review designs prepared by Graduate, Design and other Project Engineers.
• Prepare detailed design drawings and specifications.
• Complete designs and drawings for site development work.
• Complete surface water drainage designs including SuDS and soakaways.
• Design foul sewer and watermain networks per Irish Water Codes of Practice.
• Coordinate technical delivery and liaise with project staff to meet deadlines.
• Prepare risk assessments and BCAR inspections as required.
• Procurement of site investigations and contracts; pricing schedules and BOQ preparation.
• Assist Project Managers with tender documents and tender assessments.
• Administer construction contracts to meet design, schedule and budget.
