ProSource are looking for a Civil Design Engineer on behalf of their client, a leading nationwide Irish design consultancy, to join their expanding civil engineering team.
This position can be offered on a hybrid or fully remote basis, providing an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer seeking long‑term flexibility.
The successful candidate will provide civil design support across commercial, education and residential developments, with a particular focus on drainage and external infrastructure design.
- Design foul and surface water drainage systems, including attenuation, SuDS andassociated infrastructure.
- Prepare road, site development and external works designs.
- Produce engineering calculations, drawings, specifications and technical reports.
- Develop drainage models using MicroDrainage, Flow or similar software.
- Prepare designs using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit and Site 3D.
- Design and detail drainage components, including pipes, manholes, shafts and cover slabs.
- Coordinate with clients, architects, structural engineers and other project stakeholders.
- Ensure designs comply with Irish, UK and relevant European standards.
- Deliver accurate, practical designs in line with client requirements, project programmes and internal quality procedures.
Requirements
- Level 8 degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
- 3+ years experience in civil engineering design.
- Strong drainage design experience is essential.
- Previous experience within the Irish / UK construction market is highly desirable.
- Experience designing roads, drainage and associated site infrastructure.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and relevant civil engineering design software.
- Experience with Civil 3D, Revit, Site 3D, MicroDrainage or Causeway Flow would be beneficial.
- Good understanding of civil engineering products and drainage construction details.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage design deliverables in a remote environment.
- Membership of, or progress towards membership of, Engineers Ireland, ICE or another relevant professional institution is desirable.
- Ambition to achieve Chartered Engineer status.
