Job summary

Alignerr is seeking chemistry experts for a fully remote AI data trainer role. The position offers flexibility with a 10–40 hour weekly commitment and an hourly contract. You will design and evaluate chemistry problems to advance AI reasoning and contribute to benchmark development across chemistry subfields.

Ideal candidates hold a Master’s in Chemistry or related field, are self-motivated, and can work asynchronously. Prior AI data annotation experience is not required.

This is a fully remote, flexible contract role built for people with serious chemistry credentials who want to contribute to cutting-edge AI research on their own schedule.

What You'll Do

• Design challenging chemistry problems across domains like chemical engineering, biochemistry, and physical chemistry to rigorously test AI performance
• Develop clear, step-by-step solutions that demonstrate rigorous scientific reasoning
• Evaluate AI-generated responses for accuracy, logic, and depth of understanding
• Collaborate with researchers to refine benchmarks spanning undergraduate through Master's-level chemistry topics
• Provide structured, high-quality feedback that directly improves AI model outputs

Who You Are

• Currently pursuing or have completed a Master's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, or a closely related field
• Strong problem-solving ability across advanced chemistry domains
• Able to communicate complex scientific concepts clearly and precisely in writing
• Self-motivated and comfortable working independently and asynchronously
• No prior AI or data annotation experience required

Nice to Have

• Experience with data annotation, data quality review, or evaluation systems
• Familiarity with AI language models or scientific benchmarking
• Background spanning multiple chemistry subdisciplines
