Job summary

The Glenmalure Lodge in Wicklow is seeking a passionate Chef to join our kitchen team and deliver consistently excellent food and service. You will prepare meals, assist with menus, and uphold HACCP standards in a busy, welcoming lodge environment.

We value flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays, with a strong emphasis on teamwork, organisation, and high-quality presentation. Accommodation is not provided and own transport is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a busy kitchen.
• Level 5 qualification including Leaving Cert.
• Strong knowledge of food preparation and presentation.
• Ability to work calmly under pressure and maintain high standards.
• Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Own transport is essential; accommodation not provided.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook high-quality meals to a consistent standard.

The Glenmalure Lodge is a welcoming country lodge and restaurant set in the heart of the Wicklow Mountains. We pride ourselves on serving high-quality, freshly prepared food in a warm and friendly atmosphere, catering to locals, tourists, walkers, and groups throughout the year. We are looking for a passionate and reliable Chef to join our wonderful kitchen team and help deliver consistently excellent food and service.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook high-quality meals to a consistent standard.


• Assist with menu planning and the development of seasonal specials.


• Maintain excellent food hygiene and HACCP standards.


• Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering and stock rotation.


• Minimise food waste and manage portion control.


• Work collaboratively with the front-of-house and kitchen teams.


• Ensure the kitchen is clean, organised, and fully compliant with health and safety regulations.

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience as a Chef or Sous Chef in a busy kitchen.


• Strong knowledge of food preparation and presentation.


• Ability to work calmly under pressure.
