Job summary

Elysearch and Placement is partnering with an expanding Midlands-based firm to recruit a strategic Chief Financial Officer. The role leads financial strategy, planning, reporting, audits, compliance, and banking relationships, working closely with the CEO and SLT to steer growth.

Job description

My client are an expanding, well funded company based in the Midlands.

They now require a strong, ambitious, strategic CFO to help them as they move to the next stage of their growth.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for financial strategy, financial planning and analysis, financial reports, company audits, compliance, and bank relationships. They will collaborate with the CEO and the executive team to make decisions regarding company's financial strategy and operations. The candidate will possess a strong background in finance and management.

Key responsibilities:

• It is essential to the role that the candidate will be able to form a close working relationship with the Senior Leadership Team members and work with them to continue to grow the business, identify and lead initiatives.

• Strong commercial awareness with experience in developing and implementing an organisational business strategy

• Take overall control of the Group’s accounting function and lead the finance team.

• Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting to all key stakeholders.

• Working closely with and build relationships with other members of the Senior Leadership Team, define, and monitor financial and operational KPIs, identify areas of risk to performance and communicate such to stakeholders;

• Establish strong forecasting systems that support future decision making and provide the basis for effective performance monitoring.

Qualifications and candidate requirements:

• Must have an ACMA/FCMA, ACA/FCA, ACCA/FCCA, CPA or equivalent accounting qualification;

• 15+ years’ post qualification experience ( in the construction or construction adjacent industry would be a distinct advantage ), including at least 7 years in a senior financial leadership role, and used to shaping day-to-day commercial & operating decisions;

• Excellent experience in the financial management of large scale projects;
• Strong financial planning and performance management expertise;

• Experience in leading teams through a growth phase and operating as a strategic advisor to Board.
