Job summary

Centre Coordinator Position

Blackwater Childcare Clg Fermoy, Co. Cork. P61 WR65.

Blackwater Childcare is currently looking for a centre coordinator that is motivated, focused, and passionate towards their work. A person who will take interest in supporting and guiding the childcare team in all aspects of the daily routine. They will work closely with room leaders and report directly to management.

The role will support the team to:

  • Ensure the welfare and development of all children is met.
  • Nurture the holistic needs of each child.
  • Encourage a child-centred approach in collaboration with children, encouraging their involvement and agency.
  • Advocate an inclusive environment with an understanding of the Access and Inclusion Model.
  • Maintain records necessary for the running of the childcare service in accordance with all relevant and up to date Childcare / Pre-school services Regulations, Policies and Procedures.
  • Plan in conjunction with the team.
  • Be knowledgeable regarding the sector’s inspectorate authorities and how to prepare for such visits. (Pobal, TUSLA, Dept of the Environment, Dept of Education, DCEDIY).
  • Ensure the safety, security and wellbeing of all children attending the service.
  • Monitor and ensure quality and safety standards are maintained in the setting.
  • Create and maintain high stimulating and quality learning environments indoors and outdoors.
  • Support and guide the team to offer engaging and enriching experiences that support and promote children’s health, identity and belonging, learning and development.

Qualifications and skills needed:

  • Minimum Level 7, Early Years qualification is necessary.
  • At least 3 years’ experience working in the early years sector is necessary.
  • Experience in a leadership role is required.
  • A good knowledge of the administrative / inspectorate requirements of the sector is required.
  • Strong organisational skills are necessary.
  • Good communication, listening and IT skills are imperative.
  • Effective interpersonal skills are essential; close teamwork with colleagues and management will be a huge part of the role.
  • The position requires the ability to collaborate well with parents and communicate effectively.
  • Confidentiality is paramount.
  • Flexibility in the workplace is necessary.
  • The ability to delegate and plan is essential.

35-hour, permanent contract, 7.30am to 6pm, Monday to Friday, shift rota applies. If you are interested in this position and meet the requirements outlined above.
