Job summary

Curam Care Homes is hiring Relief Catering Assistants to support residents with nutritious meals and comfortable dining experiences, under high food-safety standards. You will help prepare meals, serve across breakfast, lunch and dinner, and work closely with a friendly team in a care home setting.

Experience is helpful but not essential as full training is provided; eligibility to work in Ireland is required, and there are weekend shifts and benefits for staff.

• Friendly, approachable manner with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work well as part of a team.
• HACCP or other food safety training is advantageous but not essential as training will be provided.
• Eligible to work in Ireland.

Responsibilities

• Set up kitchen and satellite kitchens for daily service.
• Serve breakfast, lunch, dinners and teas from the kitchen/satellite kitchens.
• Carry out day-to-day cleaning of kitchen areas.
• Take meal orders from residents and follow dietary requirements.

As a Catering Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting our residents by supporting the chef prepare nutritious meals, helping to deliver high-quality, resident-centred dining experiences, in line with food safety standards and company policies.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Catering Assistant is helpful but not essential, full training will be provided
• A friendly, approachable manner with strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively communicate and engage positively with residents, colleagues and visitors
• Ability to work well as part of a team
• HACCP or other food safety training is advantageous, however not essential as this training will be provided.
• Eligible to work in Ireland

Key Responsibilities

• Setting up the kitchen and satellite kitchens for daily service
• Working from the kitchen/ satellite kitchen serving breakfast, lunch, dinners and teas
• Day to day cleaning of the kitchen/ satellite kitchens
• Taking meal selection (orders) from residents
• Follow all dietary requirements and HACCP procedures
