Job summary

Curam Care Homes on Navan Road invites applications for an Relief Activities Assistant in Dublin. You will support a Meaningful Activity Programme so residents can engage in daily life within the home, including those with cognitive or physical impairments.

The role covers seven days with weekend rosters. Experience in elder care is advantageous; training is provided, and IT skills plus EpicCare familiarity are desirable.

Qualifications

• Experience in caring for older persons is advantageous.
• Training will be provided as needed.
• Sonas Programme course desirable but not essential.
• Good IT skills and familiarity with EpicCare are beneficial.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required.
• Cookery, gardening, knitting, music and arts and crafts skills are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing a Meaningful Activity Programme for residents.

We are recruiting a Relief Activities Assistant to join our Navan Rd , Nursing Home , Cabra Dublin 7.

The Activities Assistant assists in the implementation of a Meaningful Activity Programme within the home to ensure that all residents can participate in meaningful and life enhancing activities as part of their daily life in residential care. This includes older people with cognitive, physical, sensory and intellectual impairments. This role is part of a team providing Activities to our residents seven days per week so rostered hours would include weekends.

Requirements

• Experience working in Care of the Older Person within a residential care home setting is advantageous.
• Relevant experience is desirable but not essential as training will be provided:
• Sonas Programme Course completed is desirable but not essential as training will be provided;
• A good level of IT skills;
• Familiarity of EpicCare platform is desirable
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to communicate clearly with colleagues and residents;
• Demonstrable skills in cooking, gardening, knitting, music, arts and crafts is desirable.
