FT Workforce is seeking experienced Carpenters and Working Foremen for a hands-on role in County Wicklow. The role combines second-fix carpentry with on-site coordination across Arklow and Wicklow Town, with some workshop work.

You will lead teams, coordinate subcontractors, and ensure projects run efficiently while maintaining high-quality carpentry standards. Immediate start and full-time hours on offer.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Carpenter, Working Foreman, Carpenter Foreman, Chargehand Carpenter or Senior Carpenter.
• Strong carpentry background, particularly second-fix work.
• Experience with doors, fire doors and partitioning.
• Ability to organise and coordinate trades and subcontractors.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Valid Safe Pass.
• Full driving licence is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Carry out predominantly second-fix carpentry and take responsibility for coordinating works on site.
• Organise and coordinate teams on site and liaise with subcontractors and other trades.
• Help oversee the general running of the site and ensure high-quality work.
• Read drawings where required and maintain a safe, clean working environment.
• Work across Arklow and Wicklow Town, including workshop days as needed.

FT Workforce is currently recruiting experienced Carpenters / Working Foremen for construction, refurbishment and repair works across County Wicklow.

We are ideally looking to bring two experienced people into the team.

This is a hands-on role for an experienced carpenter who is comfortable not only carrying out carpentry work but also organising teams, coordinating subcontractors and helping manage the day-to-day running of sites.

The work will be split between projects in Arklow and Wicklow Town, with some work also taking place in the company's workshop.

The Role

The successful candidates will be primarily second-fix carpentry focused, while also taking responsibility for helping organise and coordinate works on site.

You will be expected to be hands-on with the tools while also helping to keep the projects running efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Carrying out predominantly second-fix carpentry
• Installation, adjustment and repair of doors and fire doors
• Partitioning and associated carpentry works
• General carpentry and building repairs
• Refurbishment and maintenance works
• Organising and coordinating teams on site
• Coordinating subcontractors and other trades
• Helping oversee the general running of the site
• Ensuring work is completed to a high standard
• Reading and working from drawings where required
• Maintaining a safe, clean and organised working environment
• Liaising with management and other contractors
• Working between different sites as required
• Carrying out some carpentry and associated work in the workshop

Current Projects

Arklow:
Refurbishment and repair works on a large historic Georgian building, including carpentry, building repairs, maintenance, repairs to existing gates and other associated works.

Wicklow Town:
Works involving fire doors, partitioning, second-fix carpentry and general building works.

Requirements
