Freshford Area CE Scheme is looking for a Caretaker/Groundskeeper to maintain facilities, pitches, and grounds at St. Lachtain's GAA Club. This role ensures a clean and safe environment for players and visitors. Training will be provided for applicants without prior experience.

Eligibility to participate on CE is generally linked to those who are 21 years or over and in receipt of a qualifying social welfare payment for 1 year or more or 18 years and over for certain disadvantaged groups. Your eligibility will have to be verified by the Department.

Role Purpose The Caretaker/Groundskeeper will ensure the club’s facilities, pitches, and grounds are maintained to the highest standard, providing a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for players, members, and visitors. This role is central to supporting the day-to-day running of the club.
Key Responsibilities
Skills & Experience Experience in groundskeeping, caretaking, or facility maintenance (desirable). Knowledge of pitch preparation and grass care (training can be provided). Practical maintenance skills (basic carpentry, painting, plumbing, or electrics). Reliable, responsible, and able to work independently. Good communication and teamwork skills with coaches, players, and volunteers. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and match days.
