Job summary

Horizons - Cope Foundation in Cork Communities is seeking Care Assistants to support people with intellectual disabilities and autism in residential and community settings across Cork City & County. Roles include day and night shifts within a 78-hour fortnight structure.

Salary aligns with the HSE consolidated pay scales; new appointees start at the minimum point unless prior service is recognized. QQI Level 5 Major Award in Healthcare/Intellectual Disability required.

Qualifications

• A QQI Level 5 Major Award in Healthcare/Intellectual Disability (all 8 modules completed).
• Fluency in English with good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work flexibly in day and night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals with intellectual disability and autism to live a life of their choosing.
• Work as part of a team in residential or community settings.
• Collaborate with circles of support and local communities to create opportunities.
