Responsibilities

• Providing friendly support and companionship to older people
• Assisting clients with their day-to-day needs and ensuring they feel comfortable and valued
• Preparing and serving meals and assisting clients at mealtimes
• Supporting clients with toileting and personal care needs, where required
• Helping to organise and participate in activities, social events and daily programmes
• Encouraging clients to participate and enjoy their time at the centre
• Keeping the centre clean, tidy and welcoming
• Carrying out general household duties
• Working as part of a friendly and supportive team

Eligibility to participate on CE is generally linked to those who are 21 years or over and in receipt of a qualifying social welfare payment for 1 year or more or 18 years and over for certain disadvantaged groups. Your eligibility will have to be verified by the Department.

To register your interest you can contact an Employment Personal Advisor (EPA) in your local Intreo Centre.

Applicants should supply suitable character references and be prepared to complete a Garda vetting application form.
