Job summary

John Keogh Garage in Coolmoney, Donard, Co. Wicklow, is seeking two Car/Motor Mechanics to service, maintain, diagnose, and repair cars and commercial vehicles to meet safety standards. You will perform routine servicing, diagnose faults with diagnostic tools, replace components, conduct pre-NCT inspections, fit tyres, and keep accurate records.

The role offers full-time hours (39 per week) with overtime potential and PPE provided. Yearly remuneration is €36,607 based on 39 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Car/Motor Mechanic.
• Ability to diagnose faults and perform repairs independently.
• Knowledge of modern vehicle systems and diagnostic tools.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine servicing and scheduled maintenance on vehicles.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults using diagnostic equipment.
• Repair and replace components including engines, brakes, suspension, steering, clutches, timing belts, and exhaust systems.
• Conduct pre-NCT inspections and ensure vehicles meet regulatory standards.
• Install replacement parts and carry out tyre fitting, balancing, and alignment.
• Maintain accurate job cards, service records, and parts usage logs.
• Ensure workshop cleanliness, safety, and compliance with health & safety regulations.
• Provide technical advice to customers and support junior staff when required.

Job Description

We are currently looking for 2 Car/Motor Mechanic who will carry out servicing, maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on cars and commercial vehicles, ensuring safety, reliability, and compliance with Irish road-worthiness standards.
