Job summary

The Irish Cancer Society is seeking a Communications and Campaigns Officer to lead the 221+ digital communications, social media, campaigns and internal updates. This part-time maternity cover role reports to the 221+ Patient Support Group Manager and requires delivering engaging content to raise awareness and support activities.

Based in Dublin with hybrid working, the post involves creating materials across digital and print channels, coordinating external events and supporting newsletters,

Qualifications

• Experience managing social media accounts and digital communications.
• Experience producing successful social media campaigns.
• Excellent written communication and copywriting skills.
• Experience producing newsletters / internal communications.
• Strong content creation skills using Canva or Adobe.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities to deadlines.
• Strong organisational and project management skills.
• Empathy and compassion in a charity context.
• Integrity and confidentiality are essential.
• Experience in NGO/Charity sector is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Campaigns and Public Engagement: support awareness, advocacy and fundraising campaigns; create campaign materials; coordinate communications; promote events; draft external newsletters.
• Internal Communications: produce and distribute internal newsletters; gather news; support staff engagement; ensure clear messaging.
• Social Media and Digital Communications: manage social channels, plan content, create graphics/videos; grow online presence; monitor trends; produce analytics reports.
• Website and Content Management: update website, work with web support on performance and security; create posts highlighting the organisation's work.
