Job summary

Primark is seeking a CAD Technician to produce and maintain store layout drawings for new stores, relocations, and updates. You will develop departmental layouts, linear footage plans, centre-floor equipment layouts, and stockroom racking to support operational and trading needs.

Collaborate with architects and contractors to ensure accurate layout integration, govern CAD standards, and provide training and support to stakeholders to raise quality and efficiency across projects.

Qualifications

• 3 years' experience in retail, architectural, space planning or design.
• Advanced AutoCAD skills for technical drawings and layouts.
• Experience with drawing revisions, document control and CAD libraries.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiarity with StoreSpace, ACC, SharePoint is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Produce and maintain accurate CAD store layout drawings for new stores, relocations, extensions, refits, and updates.
• Develop and update departmental layouts, linear footage plans, centre-floor equipment layouts, and stockroom racking plans.
• Prepare and manage approval, planning, and design drawing packages while maintaining drawing revisions and document control procedures.
• Support and govern Primark CAD standards, templates, drawing protocols, and block libraries, ensuring consistency.
• Review consultant drawings for compliance with Primark standards and provide CAD training and support to consultants and internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate with architects, consultants, contractors, and project teams to ensure accurate layout integration and drive CAD quality.

What You’ll Do as CAD Technician

• Produce and maintain accurate CAD store layout drawings for new stores, relocations, extensions, refits, and existing store updates.
• Develop and update departmental layouts, linear footage plans, centre-floor equipment layouts, and stockroom racking plans to support operational and trading requirements.
• Prepare and manage approval, planning, and design drawing packages while maintaining drawing revisions, updates, and document control procedures.
• Support and govern Primark CAD standards, templates, drawing protocols, and block libraries, ensuring consistency across projects.
• Review consultant drawings for compliance with Primark standards and provide CAD training, guidance, and technical support to consultants and internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate with architects, consultants, contractors, and project teams to ensure accurate layout integration, support drawing management systems, and drive continuous improvements in CAD quality and operational efficiency.

What You’ll Bring

• Qualification in AutoCAD, Architectural Technology, Interior Design, or a related discipline, with a minimum of 3 years' experience in a retail, architectural, space planning, or design environment.
• Advanced AutoCAD proficiency with strong experience producing technical drawings, retail layouts, fixture planning, space planning, and maintaining CAD standards and drawing protocols.
• Experience managing drawing revisions, document control processes, drawing distribution, and maintaining CAD libraries, standards, and governance procedures.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint), with desirable experience in StoreSpace, ACC, SharePoint, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar retail planning and collaboration platforms.
• Strong stakeholder management and coordination skills, with the ability to work effectively with consultants, contractors, project teams, and international or multi-region stakeholders.
• Highly organised, detail-oriented, and proactive professional with excellent communication skills, a collaborative approach, strong accountability, adaptability in fast-paced environments, and a commitment to continuous improvement and high-quality delivery.
